The eighteenth week
Once again a lot has happened this week… the closer the farewell comes, the fuller my days become.
On Wednesday I was at a “Sweet 16” party of a friend. After that another friend stayed overnight at my house and the next morning we went to have breakfast at one of the 50 pancake houses of Williamsburg.
On Friday I had track practice in the morning and in the afternoon we met a friend of my host mother in a restaurant in Hampton (a neighboring town) and spent the evening there.
In order not to sit around lazily on Saturday, my host mother and I decided to go for a run. We tried out the many hiking trails around the college and finally spent more than three hours on one trail (I have to admit that we got lost). I was amazed by how many great running routes there are here. In the evening I met my friends for the last time to go to an amusement park.
But Sunday was definitely the best day of this week, because my host mother, her brother and I visited an alpaca farm just outside Williamsburg, where we took part in a really interesting three-hour guided tour. So after spending the day with alpacas, goats, horses and donkeys, we went out for Mexican dinner in the evening.
Okay, that was a short summary of my last week. I’m doing great right now and enjoy every day I’m still here. I will see my parents again in 4 days as they come to visit me here. I am already totally excited. But of course also because there is Christmas tomorrow;-)
